Keep student information out of messages
Lasso Media Notes offers reading and practice resources. Please do not send class lists, student records, home addresses, identifying photographs of children, or unpublished interviews involving private personal information. A question about an exercise rarely needs a learner’s full name or school.
What a message tells us
Email correspondence includes the sender’s address and the contents and attachments supplied by the sender. We use it to answer questions about the website, consider corrections, and address privacy or rights requests. If you are writing for someone else, share only information you have permission to provide.
A parent, guardian, or educator who believes a child’s personal information has been sent to us can contact [email protected]. Describe how to find the message without sending further sensitive documents. We may ask for limited information needed to verify the request.
Visiting pages and following links
Systems that serve and protect the website can process request details, including IP addresses, page addresses, browser information, and timestamps. Hosting and email providers may handle information as part of delivering their services. Records may also be disclosed to meet legal obligations or investigate misuse.
Your browser provides controls for cookies and website storage. An outside resource linked from an article has its own privacy practices; those practices apply when you visit or use that resource.
Questions, retention, and updates
Use the email address above to ask about correspondence you have sent or to request correction or deletion. Information may need to be kept while a request is unresolved or for a security or legal reason. We cannot promise that messages or online systems are completely secure.
